I don't think enough is ever said that Japs are way, way, waaay bigger consoomers than westerners are. You guys have to remember: it's a country that popularized gachas as a real genre, and despite "banning" gambling, is one of the most addicted to it in pretty much every form possible. Even small things like trade evos and general "event only" pokemon are popularized because of them wanting to feel special for having them despite making the games worse later when people move on.
Calling them bug men is too harsh, but the general populace eat a LOT of shit way more handily and won't even complain about it before asking for more
