Are we going to another school in Kitakami? I thought the implication was the "other school" is Blueberry Academy, explaining why the 2 new characters are also in the art for The Indigo Disk.

I was really hoping for a whole new Japan region in the future and I thought Tohoku would have been an obvious choice. We're really only left with Shikoku and the the sea of Japan areas now.

Blueberry is the school you are transfered to un the second DLC, but the first one says you go to Kitakami in a trip organized with "other school". This may mean Naranja/Uva Academy and Blueberry Academy both go to Kitakami or that Naranja/Uva Academy goes to Kitakami where the Manzana Academy is.
The siblings also seem to be from Blueberry Academy but the official site says they "call Kitakami home" so who knows

Actually in the japanese version all names are in english, Orange, Grape and Blueberry. In the spanish version they are all spanish (Naranja Uva and Arandano)
Having the base game ones in a different language from the DLC one(s?) is an english localization thing

Is it just the sticks up there? I don't know anything about Japan's geography so I wouldn't know. If it's just boonies I can see why they wouldn't have gyms or anything while all the cities and excitement are in Kanto.

It's about as industrial as Kanto is. Sendai is the largest city iirc, and if you want an idea of what that is like go read JoJo's Bizarre Adventure part 4 or part 8. Araki's Morio is based off of Sendai.

The Japanese name is "Kitakami no Sato" which means Northern Hights/God Village, it's literally Jubilife Village with an open world around it. Blueberry Academy will be accessed by boat in Levincia as hinted by a little girl in the docks who talks about wanting to see pokemon underwater.

The characters in the DLC of Teal Mask are from Blueberry Academy, that's where you first meet them, with the second DLC, Indigo Disk being where you transfer to them

Considering how barebones the Spain influence was in Paldea and higher amount of Japan inspired Pokemon compared to Alola and Galar and the school theme. I actually wonder if we were going to get new Japan games but something happened and they made Legends (and made the regional forms Hisuian forms which explains why Paldea had two) and the DLC

As spaniard I can tell Paldea has a shitton of Spain in it, be some music, towns, and lots of mons, if you know your stuff. It makes me wish I were brit/french to know more about those countries and judge if Galar and Kalos were this influenced by the real countries or not (I think Kalos is, but hey idk)
