There isn't much incentive these days to improve Wii U emulation support I'd imagine. The main games people want run decently enough and most games of note have been ported to the Switch and since they're largely the definitive versions people would probably prioritise those versions over the Wii U originals. Best bet is to use the original hardware if no emulator works, but if its any consolation, I've played every game in the series and couldn't bring myself to finish U, its beyond mindless. Every map being a shitty circular arena and the focus on multiplayer meaning you're locked into 4 mon that are onscreen at all times rather than having a "party" like in the other games sucks donkey dick.
