>>53372569Honestly the real reason why people like Area Zero is because it's the first time in literally all of Pokemon that the game has felt like an actual RPG, with party members that have their own characters and you're working towards finding and stopping an unknowable threat.
As much as Poketards don't want to admit it Pokemon as party members are incredibly boring, they have no character of their own and the overly safe and sheltered attitude of the game is similarly dull. They look at a game like Persona where you have these unique characters working together and saving the world and they want that but just with Pokemon because they ironically don't want to leave the comfort of their own franchise that has coddled them since their youth, so they latched on hard to Area Zero for giving them a taste of that despite the fact it's just as ugly, flat and nothing like the rest of the game.
When world leaders have finally decided it's time to stop giving us free will and we will own nothing and be happy I suspect they'll be studying Poketard behavior very closely, it's honestly just amazing that such a group of 'people' even exists in the modern world
