I never did one of these online competitions so imagine my shock when I just nonchalantly signed up my team from Series 2 without reading what was eligible and gimped myself for not having a cover legendary and not being able to edit my team for over a week and a half. Not to mention I've been having bad luck with the team recently and have plateaued in ranked going on a huge loss streak. Surely this tournament is gonna be fun

Tournaments are easier early on, I won all 15 of my day one battles back in 2022 for the shiny Galarian Articuno. Also, what's your team? It might still do okay in this format.

I have the story miraidon on my team (found out I was able to put her on a battle team because she has her own box) and yet my dumbass didn't think to put fish (running a weird e-terrain + sun team)

there it is. I really like Hariyama and an anon in the Wifi General gave me a shiny one months ago so I really wanted to make a double Hariyama team work. My thought process with the team was to essentially guarantee Flutter Mane wasn't a threat and to have SD Hands be my win factory. With Wide Guard and Bullet punch my team eats Dazzling Gleams and stops Gholdengo, Torkoal, and Armarouge in their tracks. Flutter Mane can't eat 2 bullet punches and over all I never had an issue with one. I use protect and Tera Flying to be able to EQ Spam from Tusks and get free SDs on Hands against opposing ground types.

It's really offensive but I do find myself having some issues. Palafin usually does really well but I rarely see an oportunity to lead directly with it as I almost always see Amoongus/Hands or Hariyama/Hands as the best lead for most of what I encounter on the ladder, because of this it's hard to get to hero form without it or something else getting hit for 50% on the switch in, and Goldengho was just kinda put on the team because I had one ready without really thinking how it would factor, massive Psychic and flying weakness on the team was something I didn't see coming either. When I tested it on showdown I had Headlong Rush instead of EQ on Tusks and I debated putting it back on but I literally can't until the team is unlocked. Also fuck Annihilape and Garganacl

That's not a bad team, and I wouldn't say that just because you don't have a legendary means you're immediately done. All legendaries are very weak to Fairy except for Chi-Yu.

I played this a bit on showdown, it's nice that the 2 cover legends are pretty evenly matched this gen after Zacian: the movie. I think the focus on paradox abiltiies is kinda fucked though and makes me worried for the eventual VGC meta.

I wish I fucking knew that shit a couple of days ago, I locked my team in advance so I wouldn't accidentally forget to do so and now I can't use my team in casual to practice

You need a Nintendo Switch Online account and they ask you to put in your regional data (age range, conference), so you are already getting gated if you are concerned about privacy

Yes you can, make it a rental team then you can add it to your rental team slots. I made the same mistake with locking my team and that’s what I’m doing on ladder rn

I do have a cfw switch but I guess their systems will not detect any nintendo spyware once I use my switch. Which counts as cheating or whatever reason they make up.
