Same, except replace gen 4 with gen 2 for me. Gen 3, 4 and 5 and their consequences were disastrous for the franchise, especially gen 3 and its insistence on making legendary pokemon a main part of the game instead of an optional subplot like in the previous two games. Gens 4 and 5 took everything bad about gen 3 and made it worse. Gens 6-8 are just not salvageable but at least gen 7 has a cool dex.

High sales does not automatically equal good quality. Even the best games can still be criticised.

In the case of Scarlet and Violet, there are steps in the right direction but the game still carries forward a lot of the flaws of previous games while adding some of its own, coupled with the graphical and performance issues.

These are not perfect products by any stretch. They are not going toget better if we suck it up and say, 'oh well, they tried. Don't want to complain all the time. #ThankYouGamefreak'. That just gives the people in charge the green light to keep pumping out mediocre, buggy games year on year, rather than evaluating and improving upon previous issues.

Its still not even guaranteed gamefreak goes in the correct direction after these games. TPC is oddly inconsistent on a lot of the games mechanics.

I agree that these games point in the right direction for the game, but I still won't put all my faith into the games and expect a masterpiece again. If it weren't for these games technical issues it would hands down be my favorite.
