Who is your favorite mythical? Do you like how they have cut back on how many mythicals they release again, or did you prefer each gen getting 2 or 3?

zarude is my favourite design of all these (i either highly dislike or am highly indifferent to most of the others) but i think it should not be a mythical at all, it should be a natural pokemon you can encounter in the wild with its own evolution line and shit
maybe it could evolve into a literal spider monkey with multiple limbs
i'm also a fan of deoxys, it's pretty cool and that one can stay a mythical

Mew was the first mythical I ever got, so it has a special place on my team. I got it at a ToysRUs event for gen 3 in 2005 and I still have it to this day, even got the Master Rank Ribbon on it last gen.

I think the Gen 1-4 ones are pretty solid. Marshadow is also a 10/10 design but it doesn't really have any lore despite being a legendary.

They don't bother giving mythicals any lore or story or place in the world at all anymore, and it feels really anticlimactic to just get a legendary in the Pokemon Center and box it and have that be its only appearance in the games, so I'm glad they've cut back on them in recent years. Having nothing is better than just having something bad. That's not to say the events were great design either, though, permanently locking out parts of the game was also pretty shitty and I'm glad they're not doing that anymore either. Wish they'd just be regular Pokemon or even regular Legendaries

Jirachi and Diancie are my favorites, but I'm not a fan of the concept of mythicals. They're usually event only with an event OT so you can't nickname them; they're usually shiny locked so you can't hunt them, and they usually just dump them into the game using a Mystery Gift code, which is not engaging, immersive, nor does it make the pokemon feel unique when everyone gets the same exact pokemon at the same time frame. Just make them a place built into the game and make them normal legendaries.

Manaphy is my favorite mythical. Its adorable, decent in battle, and was great in the movie and PMD.

I'm also glad they are cutting back on mythicals. There has been a huge legendary influx as of late and its nice to not worry about another limited time encounter. Though I won't lie, I like how recent games have found ways to make mythicals obtainable in game. Deoxys in ORAS, Keldeo in SwSh, Manaphy in PLA, etc etc.

I think my favorite is Mew followed closely by Marshadow. I also like Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Darkrai, Genesect, and Zeraora. I don't care how many they release as long as they are good.
