I'm more of a Hoenn/Sinnoh fan myself but I hate Gen 1 because the mechanics are shit, the sprites are shit, it's a glitchy mess, etc.

assuming its just the games themselves and not everything else like pokemon and the characters that get removed, gen 2 would be pretty damn big for a GBC game (and a little weird continuity wise), but RSE and onwards would catch more shit for being "smaller". Nah, but it would definitely be a more consistent series.
Maybe it's autism, but I genuinely like even the games I hate in the Pokemon franchise, idk why, but Pokemon makes things feel more comforting.
Anyways, 3>2>4>5>1>7>6>9>8
I replay gen's 2 and 3 yearly, sometimes more.
The newer games are such a dreg to replay, especially Gen 7, I don't know why they made the beginning so long and tutorial heavy.
