that's a problem with the animation, not the design itself
kangambit is a bit goofy looking i think it does a great job of looking like it belongs to the Bisharp family while also looking like an original concept, unlike Annihilape which only does a good job of looking like it belongs in the Primeape family

I dunno man, just look at that picture. The shift in color is so drastic, the eyes are totally different. It’s covered in gunk that it can inexplicably never rid itself of, and even the shape of things like its eyes or ears are totally different. It would’ve made for a better split evolution than final evolution imo.

Ursarang is a shitmon? It was banned from UU in the first two gens. It was only untiered once in SM due to power creep, and is good in NU in this current gen. It has 130 base attack with guts. Just because something isn’t OU every gen doesn’t mean it is automatically a shitmon.

The marking on Ursaluna is better. Having a crescent moon on one side and a full moon on the other doesn't look natural. Ursaring's ring may be a bit too circular, but that's the only marking it has, so it gets away with it. The proportions in this design also look too cartoony to me, whereas Ursaluna looks more similar to a real bear. It's not bad, it's just looks like it'd fit in better with another franchise.
Just to clarify, I'm not looking for a heap of realism in my fantasy monster collector, but when you're clearly aping off of a real animal and are attempting to make a creature that actually looks like it's meant to live in an ecosystem instead of a character in a video game, it helps to borrow from real animal morphology.

I'd argue the opposite desu. official ursaluna religiously following a bear's body shape makes it just look like a basic cartoon bear with dreamworks eyebrows than a pokemon. that one taking inspiration from a bear but still stylizing it to make it more unique while giving it those mountains so it has more than just mud on its paws to convey its new ground typing is more to be expected from me pokemans
