>>53391418May I add, I hate how small Alola feels as a region. To me it felt like a downgrade even compared to Kalos (I played SM before XY). The fact that an archipelago has barely any surfable water is embarrassing.
I also didn't like how limiting the exploring was, you were forced to trigger plot event after plot event because you couldn't even explore an extra useless route without filling the plot quota for that island first.
I didn't remember it being as strict in Kalos, because the geography made it feel less barebones despite most routes being objectively simple.
It's such a shame XY was rushed in the writing department and Z was dropped in favor of SM due to the 20th Anniversary. Gen6 deserved better, it was a pretty unlucky gen.
