I think accusing everything of being a shill raid is just a convenient tactic to instantly devalue something you don't like in a way that's awkward to bounce back from, it has the same weight of accusing the poster you're arguing with of being a samefag. It suddenly puts a burden on them to prove otherwise which makes you feel more in control of the conversation, it allows you to feel like you won without addressing any of their points, it makes everyone view what they're discussing with distrust/skepticism or even negativity (or at least that's what the accuser wants), and even if they do prove they're not samefagging, you can just shrug it off and say they're lying and still 1 samefag anyway.
Or maybe my armchair analysis is completely off and it's just a modern contrarian way of saying popular thing bad.
