It's easier to check or outgun strong Pokemon when you have other strong Pokemon, without the entire metagame being centered around just 2 or 3 interactions. An analogy for SV OU would be if you made a new format out of UU or RU Pokemon and then threw in Mewtwo and Dialga but nothing capable of checking them
