It's popular and their favorite isn't, plus it's being shoved in their face constantly. Like that one kid on the playground who picked bulbasaur but now it's 8+ gens of "bulbasaurs" who never hit the heights of popularity that charizard did, except arguably greninja. The design has absolutely nothing to do with it.
>>53400890Yeah this is a good point, the idea of a kid helping a little lizard grow into a dragon is part of what makes charizard so immensely popular to begin with, and that does feel a bit lost nowadays.
