>>53401992The only person who has posted any evidence of it happening is the original Reddit OP.
It is noteworthy that the save data corruption he's experiencing, where you cannot reach the title screen, is also known to occur from inserting shittily-made hacks into your game.
Also noteworthy is that the mass reports of the bug exist exclusively inside of that reddit thread. No one on 4chan has experienced the bug, for instance. On Gamexplain's video asking for people who experienced the bug to post in the comments exactly what happened, they don't. They just post that it happened to them, but don't give any details.
Also, if the bug was widespread if would've happened again by now to someone who would actually post something about it. It would've happened to SOMEBODY here by now, but it just hasn't. So here are the scenarios we are left with:
- There is no random save data deletion bug. People on reddit had inserted poorly made hacks into their modded switches and the games reacted as Gamefreak intended to corrupt data within the game. If this is the case, it's possible many of the people reporting the bug are simply to embarrassed to explain what might've happened.
- There is a random save data deletion bug, but it is so preposterously rare that it has only happened to the people who are thoroughly useless, people incapable of describing what happened beforehand or sharing photos of their corrupted game.
- There is a random save data deletion bug, but it has only happened to one confirmed person, and the rest of the people involving are just bandwagoning with falsified tales of their save game being corrupted. Because that's just the kind of thing that bitter, impotent Pokemon fans tend to do nowadays.
