It's fun when between fights and exploration you can meet characters with actual dialogues and read a few lines, talk to the gym leaders or suddenly they're arguing with the villain team and you get a double fight alongside your bro. It kept me engaged and gave me the feel that my character is actually moving forward.
I enjoyed new pokemons too. Some were really cute. The villain team was funny. The last fight with those two plasma dudes was kino and atmospheric
