Is this game any good? I've never played a 3d pokemon and want to try one. I'd play it on emulator on pc,

Worth it or should I play a different 3d pokemon?

This is the first pokemon main game I honestly hate. Even after the newest update there are still a lot of graphic glitches that nearly make me puke. Grass glitching out and seemingly growing through a pokemons body and pokeballs sinking into the ground every battle are imo the worst offenders. And there is no real postgame at all. Even the usual battle facility was cut. And there is a new bug that may even delete your save file. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these pieces of digital trash.

As for 3d games that depends on what you are looking for? Do you need a main game for the switch specifically or generally anything from 3ds era onward?

My gerneal take on the main games starting with xy is:

xy: Generally very fun games that sadly never got the third version that was cleary planned for them. Still good games but there are a lot of unanswered questions and unused places.

oras: Imho the best 3d pokemon main games by far. Besides missing the frontier from emerald they are the best hoenn experience overall. I honestly cant find anything really bad about them besides hgss adding a lot more as remakes.

sm: Ignore them and read usum.

usum: Much better than the original gen 7 games imo. But overall the alola games dont do it for me. You cant feely explore anymore. Instead you are stopped on checkpoint for mostly boring chatter. Also the whole first island is pretty much one big booring tutorial.

lets go: Best gameplay of all main games imo but no postgame. If you want to try only one game I wouldnt recommend them though they are fun until you beat the story.

bdsp: Fun but flawed sinnoh remakes. Best switch main games by far imo. Nothing wrong with them besides awful size scaling and walking speed for following pokemon. Also the chibi graphics may turn some people off.

They have the best long time motivation of the switch games for me. Lets go is 25 hours fun before running out of things to do. And I would rather play a chibi remake thats nearly identical to decent games than ugly boring thrash with a gimmick more awful than z-moves. Btw awesome gif anon.

Least tedious to be sure, it has a lot of flaws but it's miles better than swsh, I already knew about the "technical issues" with the game so to say before I started, so putting that aside it's enjoyable

Best ones since at least BW2, definitely the best 3D pokemon games.
If technical issues aren't a big problem for you, as it shouldn't be since it doesn't prevent you from playing normally, it's just visually jarring sometimes, you should enjoy it.

SwSh are the worst gen in the entire series and PLA is obviously divisive since it the mechanics aren't the usual ones so it's hard to 100% recommend it.

Playing it for like 13h for now, and I must say, I like it. It's far from perfect, really, really far but I enjoy riding Koraidon, fighting with Lycanroc and exploring with Floragato. In technical aspect, it's probably the shittest game I've ever played, items shows from nowhere under your feets, textures are ugly even in this simplified style and graphic bugs are everywhere.. But! Who cares? I can walk with my pokemons, have picnic with them and together kick asses of teenagers. This game gives what gen 3 and 4 did not gave me due to limited power of those consoles and thats all that matters to me. Probably not worthy buying for full price, but on discount or on emu why not?

SV is the first mainline Pokémon game I’ve ever played where I didn’t have a honeymoon phase due to just how fucking awful it looks and runs. It takes you out of the experience when even opening cutscenes chug. You might enjoy the game, but I can’t in good conscience recommend it to anybody. I can’t believe how well it’s selling, I never expected it to come close to SwSh sales and it’s getting there. It just proves GF can rush out whatever unfinished garbage they want and have a top 10 best seller.
