This whole thing has a lot of cool concepts alongside lazy shit.
There are a lot of "kitbashed" character designs that makes me wonder why they didn't bring a pre-existing character into the spotlight.

We said Franchise Mascot. Ash was limited to his niche, and frankly losing relevancy more and more as the anime's ratings and interest declined among the ages. Pikachu however? THAT is a Franchise mascot.

He's cool, probably my favorite fighting type. Also in gen 4 you get access to him right before that long ass route that's always raining, and getting a Dry Skin one for that is really fun.
