It can't. Assist isn't in gen 9. Assist has a list of moves that can and cannot be called upon. The problem is that Smogon is extremely autistic, and since Revival Blessing isn't in the list because Assist isn't coded into the game, they can't use common sense to say "GF wouldn't let this obvious exploit persist" like they did with roar riolu, except way more broken

I took a break shortly before this shit apparently became egregious enough for them to remove the whole ladder, but what I remember is you could make a team with a bunch of Prankster Liepards and Rabsca/Pawmot that would waste your PP and use Assist to revive themselves indefinitely with Revival Blessing. Essentially just a way to PP-stall you to death.

Each move is flagged 0 or 1 for whether it can be called by assist. Every move is 0 by default, and gamefreak didn't bother setting any moves in SwSh or SV to 1 because Assist didn't exist. So technically by these idiotic fanfic rules, Obstruct is also callable by Assist even though Protect, Detect, Spiky Shield, Baneful Bunker, etc are not.

In all likelihood, the real reason it wasn't removed is because Showdown's main dataminer also happened to be the person who came up with Assist Revival Blessing "strat" and topped the ladder with it.
