I don’t hate pokemon, I’m just not stupid enough to pretend that the toddler part of the game matters

OP wasted his time changing an NPC that still gets reduced to being beaten by mashing A with literally any overleveled pokemon just like the originals

I wish there were romhack games with a REALLY SLOW level curve.
Like big stage 3 pokemon only at final 3 gyms.

Could make some more unique teams by using middle forms and weaker stuff instead of always making the same mini smogon story bosses.

Except that's dogshit way of balance because you give endgame tools to midgame boss, completely ignoring any progression and tools available to player.
The "kids" at this stage of the game will have mid-stage starter, 2-3 decent Pokemon bogged down by Unova dex being full of late evolvers and probably still will drag along shits like Pidove. You did not make game more challenging, you made it pretty much impossible to play without player spending days on grinding and still getting clapped their ass because Clay has items and moves they cannot obtain till later.
