DLC instead of a Third Version is definitely better, the problem with Joe's post is that he's saying that knowing full well that they designed the games to be cut for it to the point where the DLC is just the other half of the game.
And the biggest drawback is not being able to fix the problems with base game

It's actually a miracle Pokemon didn't die on the 3DS. The man was hellbent on making Pokemon Go the mainline game before it became obvious his opinions on the Switch were utterly retarded. If he had his vision, Let's Go would have been the Switch's mainline game while Gen 8 would be part of Go or something.
