Anyone else here thinks that it sucks that the current pokemon card generation only has a handfull of types? Steel, Fighting, Fire, Dragon, Psycho, Water and Darkness??? Where are the other ones???? Ice, Flying, Stone, Bugs etc????

They need to bring that back.

Those types never existed in the TCG.

Ice types are Water type.
Bug types are Grass type.
Rock and Ground types are Fighting type.
Flying types are Colorless (Normal type).
Poison types used to be Grass type, then were Psychic type, and now are Darkness type.
Ghost
Ghost types and Fairy types are Psychic type. (Fairy was its own type, but then it got removed when the Dragon type was retooled to be a gimmick type, and now Fairy types are Psychic type)

They didn't get removed, they never existed. These are the only types that have ever existed in the TCG and Fairy was removed and moved into Psychic starting with Sword/Shield because the Dragon type was reworked to have no weaknesses, and since Dragon was the only thing Fairy was super-effective against, the type no longer had a reason to exist.

Are you sure??? I have played the card game in the late 90s and early 2000s and only recently got in to it again. Damn, I could have sworn that all types had cards. Shit. I guess the thread can be closed now.

Fighting would get pretty crowded if you added Steel mons to it.
Maybe they could go into Electric, but it's a bit of a stretch.

Nope, the first gens only had 7 total types (Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Rock, and Colorless). Metal and Darkness were added in the Neo-era in Gen 2, Dragon was added in Gen 5, and Fairy was added in Gen 6 before being removed in Gen 8. There’s only ever been a max of 11 TCG types.
