>>53436278You can get them as soon as you wake them up from the Burned Tower in GS. It's only in Crystal that you have to wait until after you get seven badges and catch Suicune. The strategy I used was to friendmax a Crobat as early as possible, then raise it up to level 40 and use the repel trick until you encounter one for the first time. You should be able to outspeed and trap them with Mean Look, followed by Confuse Ray and Bite with Kings Rock if you have it to wear them down. Once they knock out Crobat, switch to a high level Jumpluff that can outspeed if possible, and try to hit them with Sleep Powder before they run. You can also use Gengar with Hypnosis (and Mean Look), but Jumpluff is easier to get if you're just playing solo. Jumpluff and Gengar can both outspeed Suicune and Entei at level 40, but not Raikou, so that's why I suggest using Crobat to trap and weaken them. If they do run or use Roar, just Fly to Violet City and then check your Pokedex to see if they're close to you. Violet City is the best place to do this, because it has the most connecting routes of any city in Johto that don't require you to go through gatehouses. iirc the Roar glitch that makes them disappear permanently is only in FRLG, so you don't have to worry about that.
