She should already have figured this out by now, comparatively. She has a position of responsibility within the clan even. But according to them, she's wrong at how she goes about being a trainer.
They've had her whole life to teach her how to do it right, but they didn't. Instead they just went "well, aside from Lance, she's technically the strongest, so I guess we'll make her the Gym Leader anyway."
