Maintenance will take place between 1:00 to 6:00 am UTC on Thursday

Pokemon can be traded between Sword & Shield, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Legends Arceus and Scarlet & Violet.

Meloetta gift is offered as a bonus for those who renew or have active subscriptions. Meloetta can only travel to Scarlet & Violet.

GO remained active the entire time, it could still connect to SV etc, the player level required for HOME connectivty was changed to level 99 for 6 hours, and afterwards the Pokemon HOME button was completely removed for another period of 6 hours.

Not to my knowledge, but we've only gone one Gen (roughly) with Home as a thing, so can't tell if that's significant or not. The double maintenance on it itself and through GO's communication with it was what grabbed my attention.

Like with each pokemon having a seperate "profile" per game, it would be really cool if they made it to where pokemon could cross gens, like say sending a gen 9 pokemon back to one of the gen 8 games.
But also this is GF we're talking about, so I could totally see them locking pokes to gen 9 out of laziness

Moving an originally SWSH/BDSP/PLA-compatible Pokemon with a "profile" for each of those games to SV and making it then only compatible with SV moving forward and invadliating the other three profiles seems unlikely. It wouldn't have even been worth introducing a profile system.

(that or it's an oversight and HOME didn't consider 1009 and 1010 and their moves being used in player created tournaments. either way the sprites are more recently added than the others)

There's no announcement, all we know is that HOME got a maintenance on Monday, GO got a maintenance for its HOME features on Tuesday, Scarlet & Violet has a maintenance tonight and the Walking Wake/Iron Leaves sprites were added to HOME very recently.

I just bought a USUM cart with basically a full dex.

However, the dex is so genned.
All the monsters are lvl 100, met in route 1.

Can I Bank -> Home

If they can transfer in, there's no problem with them. They generally need to have fucked up data to prevent a transfer, eg. if you genned a Pokemon with all 999 stats and Wonder Guard in SWSH and tried to trade it to someone online, you wouldn't be able to trade it because it wouldn't pass the legitimacy check done by the server. Besides that it'll block unobtainable shinies, illegal moves and certain transfer moves they seem to have blacklisted, for instance it'll prevent you from trading a Blissey that knows Wish if you attempt to, if you delete Wish then it can be traded just fine.

This one is mostly a theory at present, but one that holds a bit of water.
Allow me to explain:
>SV has PLA mons with Hisuian regional evolutions
>can only evolve in PLA
>Everything that isn't PID, SID, IVs, Shininess, Nature+Mint, Sex, region code, and pokeball is now recorded separately in Bank
>SwSh, PLA, and BDSP are set up with "future proofing"
>SwSh defaults unknown balls to pokeballs and doesn't display unknown region marks, but does have nonglitched text for "a faraway land"
>PLA+BDSP display unknown balls in Strange Balls and have the same protections for unknown region marks and location data
>SV has these same protections
Adding it all together, it seems we're actually getting something worthwhile from the Dexcut: limited backwards generation compatibility again.
Since you can no longer trade moves, there's no issues with illegal movesets and all that.

Until we actually get shown they're doing bacckwards compatibility, there's no point hyping yourself for it.
It's just as likely they play it as always (transferring shit to Gen 9 from a past Gen locks it from returning), given they prefer if players interacted with the newest games (that's why they didn't oatch XY to get the Hoenn megas, or why they didn't hand out the mega stones in SM if you missed the event distribution of them).
You WANT backwards compatibility to return, but there's nothing there proving it's returning, just assumptions coloured by manchild delusion as per usual.

Some Alolan forms in gen 8 already set precedent for only being able to evolve a Pokemon in a past game. Also, Hisui regional evos are in the DLC pokedex, implying they will have a new evolution method then.

They don't though. It's right there in the code that shows they can't evolve outside of hisui.
Some exceptions apply, like H-Quilfish or H-Basculin. Those evolve in SV as they do in PLA.

.... They're not unknown region marks. It's that when an unknown region code is read, the game displays the region mark for that game.
It's the same thing as SwSh using a pokeball for an unknown pokeball ID and PLA and BDSP... AND SV using Strange Balls for unknown Pokeball IDs.
Did you not know that for a BDSP or PLA mon in SwSh will have the Galar mark for as long as it's in SwSh?

You're also ignoring the obvious that the OG starters could be native (with 'dex listings), with an NPC to trade for the unevolveable Hisuian evos. I'd say it's more likely they'll facilitate the Hisuian evolutions/forms in some fashion however.

I honestly thought the whole reason for Alola formes aren't able to evolve because they're "Alolan" pokemon, aka gen 7 games on the 3DS. The only one they seems to fixed was Vulpix due to the Ice Stone now existing. Seeing how both SV and PLA are both Switch games, it should be possible to go back and foward to evolving some of the Hisuian forms.

Actually the evolution method for SV is there, it's just that it's not possible to achieve in the game (yet). If they're in the future pokedex then there is going to be an evolution method for them, simple as.

Then this means absolutely nothing, the games have always had a failsafe for unknown IDs from future games. Strange Balls fall under this category and don't mean anything either, they are already used for Hisui balls in SV unless they patch them in.

It's the longest period the first game of a generation has had to wait for Bank or HOME. SWSH got Pokemon HOME support on February 12, Sun and Moon got Bank support on January 25th, and XY got Bank support on February 5th (after a failed initial launch on December 25th). BDSP then technically had the longest wait but that was due to multiple reasons as the other anon said, it was also when the "storing multiple movesets for pokemon" was introduced so implementing that probably took more time.
