Plus, pokemon is a small market hobby. Much smaller than people within it realize, especially when you put it up against other trading cards like sports. One decently well-off person, not even rich, just well off, could buy out any collection you have (yes, even ttards or leafs). A $100k collection is peanuts to people that take home 6 figures a year every year.
