>>53449439I feel like Sada works better, personally. I feel like the dad leaving right after Arven was born while Sada was present and cared for him the first few years only to become more and more distant as he grew older makes a lot more sense than the other way around, if only because it's probably a lot harder for a mother to walk out when she's still recovering from giving birth and feeding the child and all that.
I also think wanting to bring extinct creatures back to life, preserve them, and live alongside them makes more sense than wanting to bring creatures that don't even exist yet into present time. The whole territorial struggle between the raidons that killed the prof also works better with wild, ancient mons than robots who should theoretically have long since evolved past something as barbaric as fighting over territory.
Aside from the paradox mons, there's also Raifort's obsession with the (albeit more recent) past, and there's the legendary quartet who are from historical stories. These other plot points just feel like they mesh better with a game centered on the past imo.
As for the AI thing, I think it fits both professors equally. I know the whole "future = robots so it fits Turo better" argument, but you still need to be good with technology to study the ancient past. Like do you think paleontologists don't use computers? Regardless of the time period they're obsessed with, the professor's line of work still requires them to be proficient with tech, so it's not too hard to believe that Sada had the tools necessary to create an AI.
And finally, I may just be biased, but I feel like the emotional beats at the end of the game hit a lot harder when it's with Arven's (robot) mother rather than his father.
Arguing about which version is canon is stupid tho since the anime is going full OC and there's still no SV manga in sight.
