They have no problem culling pokemon and forms. Its foolish to think balls would be safe, it wouldn't surprise me if in the future even more will be replaced with the greenish ball used to replace every type of ancient ball - so many minds of ballism fags destroyed.

Nah, pokeballs are just a texture and effect on top of a generic model. The reason why the PLA ones were swapped is because they don't use those models and GF are too lazy to patch them in.

Arguably aside from PLA, GameFreak hates Poké Balls ever since Gen 5. In Gens 1 - 4 you got a good amount of new Poké Balls each generation. Since Gen 5:
>Gen 5: Dream Ball for Dream World gimmick
>Gen 6: NONE LOL
>Gen 7: Beast Ball for Ultra Beast gimmick
>Gen 8 Galar: NONE LOL
>Gen 8 Hisui: Forced to make a new set of balls to fit with the times, so here's ye olde Poké, Great, Ultra Balls in regular and altered throwing distances, Plot Ball, and ugly Placeholder Ball.
>Gen 9: NONE LOL. You want one for Paradoxes? Sorry, Master Balls for me, Poké Balls for thee.

Yes, and because it's a good idea that solves many problems, Game Freak will never implement it. If they do, it'll be the 1 positive in a game of 100 negatives.
Such a concept was even mentioned in XY, so it's not unheard of to them.

They're basically endlessly reusable.

Making master balls easy to obtain would feel right nowadays though. Getting one every time you do the post game tournament or at random with the other unobtainable balls would be fair enough, you know the school is literally sitting on hundreds of them. This series has existed for far too long for technically unlimited master balls to feel broken anymore, catching hasn't been hard in a long time.
