>>53467960>it had Ass in it so i clappedBy this logic JN was some of the better parts of the pokemon anime despite being some of the literal worst crap its shat out, as they started to rely on random fan service past a point.
While its a possibility to only suffer from light decay, the anime has always struggled with retaining Ash so retaining Ash was not a good thing. He was essentially a tumorous growth, and while the writers are somewhat to blame; a lot of the blame can be put on their choice of sticking so heavily to something like Ash.
Also most people watched pokemon for pokemon, and while Ash was basically a sort of side feature historically; over time the actual brand has overtaken the anime. Just because a different case of something did work does not mean you can excuse a literal corpse and pretend it'll be the better outcome.
Of course this one reeks of just painting over the last anime so you can tell from a mile away that it'll be around a similar quality; having an actual functional protag rather than a husk might put it above but even thats iffy. Having a solid thing to build around can be a drastic change but it requires them to actually try.
This is the better course of action, but they probably won't do much of value with it.
