The Pokedex outright mentions the Pokemon that the convergent Pokemon bear resemblance to, so even if those species don't yet appear physically ingame, they're still acknowledged as existent within Scarlet and Violet.

The entire reason Farfetch'd is a rare Pokemon you could only get via trade in gen 1 is because humans overhunted it for food, people also poach Pokemon which is why Laparas is also so rare.

Like the other anon said, they just try to avoid talking about it since it's at ends with the rest of the series, but Gen 9 walks back on this and casually has you buying meat and characters like Kofu saying not to eat their Pokemon. They also allude to Pokemon being eaten in Gens 6 and 7 with the buffets serving stuff like "Take Down Steak," they just don't mention Pokemon outright.

Also I think regular fruit has always existed in Pokemon, Pokemon like Applin casually exist, same with Tropius' bananas, it's just that a bunch of strawberries can't cure paralysis or boost your defense stat so they're ignored in favor of berries which directly affect gameplay.

Ash had no issue eating Pokemon in season 1, and the anime has a mandate to only show people eating greens and veggies and mystery brown slop so eh, the anime isn't the best source for this since we barely even see Pokemon hunting, something that the Pokedex ingame LOVES to talk about.

Digimon World Next Order, the the ps4 version (it was PS Vita game), unlike Cyber Sleuth which JRPG, Next Order is a monster raising game like the original World 1, so gameplay wise it's vastly different in.

Not really comparable. Real animals showing up in Pokemon is more of an anomaly relegated to the early days before they firmly established the lore, but real plants have always been a consistent presence.

To be fair it’s hard to do worldbuilding when every 3~ years you introduce a whole new “country” with 100 or so new magical creatures.
Like, Rose’s whole “we’re gonna run out of energy” plan is going to look even stupider in 5 gens when they introduce Megavolta, a legendary that can create fountains of infinite energy.

Categories like "Mouse Pokemon" does not mean literal mice exist. It just means that "mouse" is a word people in the Pokemon world created to categorize Pokemon like Pikachu.

A better example would be how Sun brought back to reference to Indian elephants in Raichu's Pokedex entry, but then Gen 8 introduces a Pokemon based on an Indian elephant, and so that entry gets retconned to reference Copperajah instead.

"Real animals" in the context of species classification nowadays has a different meaning in-universe, one that just so happens to align with our own real world foundation to help the kids know what a Pokemon is based on.
