>>53475656It is a reasonable compromise, OP, but it's not going to happen.
GF made huge mistakes with the dexcut in gen 8 and the technical sloppiness of SV (and to a lesser degree, PLA). Instead of being prompted to learn from those mistakes, they were rewarded with enormous sales figures. Back in Gen 8, they were lambasted and someone, maybe Ishihara idk, handwaved it saying GF has "thick skin", meaning that they couldn't care less about what criticism they receive.
They've had every opportunity to expand their head count for the past 27 years to help produce better quality products but they're being rewarded for not doing that, so they have no reason to even consider it. So currently, we have 2 teams of roughly 100 average employees being screamed at to do work they know is shit by people who were behind the curve during the GB era. Japan's workplace hierarchy places age/experience ahead of everything else, so innovation in a successful business is scarce. There are still companies using fax right now because there's a 70 year old exec who refuses to adapt and every person under them feels obligated to go along. There's people like Ohmori, Morimoto, and Sugimori who have been involved for 20+ years, who have seen themselves fall further behind with every iteration, but continue pressing on in their 47 chromosome way because it prints money as it is.
The bottom line is, they will make shit, borderline unplayable games with a fraction of the roster every single time and no one can stop them unless for some magical reason, people stop buying into the second biggest franchise to ever exist.
I thank Christ that I have other games to play and other hobbies to enjoy, because if I only played pokemon, like some people on this board openly admit, I shudder to think of the constant state of misery I'd be in.
