Representative of people who didn't see the writing on the wall since XY and focused on all the wrong things to complain about as the games got worse and worse. I would HOPE that most people who had realized the franchise was getting fucked by around the LGPE point would also be able to recognize that, yes, a dexcut was inevitable. Inevitable REGARDLESS of GameFreak's level of competency or complacency. A dexcut should be the furthest thing from people's minds.
Of course, the proper complaint is that they performed the dexcut and then proceeded improve virtually nothing to compensate for this, as nearly every other aspect of the campaign became worse. One of you might say, "that was the complaint all along" but the uproar over this really just comes down to the emotional reaction to not having your favorite guy.
I would go so far as to say this was a calculated time to do this. NOT when they HAD to do the cut, but when the criticism over this completely reasonable development decision would overshadow criticism of all their other practices. Muddying the waters for all future complaints.
I hope every drooling consoomer understood that the state of SV was partially their own fault.
