Why did Gamefreak change Green and Blue around? They obviously wanted to keep Green, Green at first, but then when GSC came they changed him to Blue, and ever since he has been Blue. What gives?

He's still Green in Japan and he's always been Blue in the west. Nobody changed anything.

Well in LGFR they used Green in the west, but that was only as "your opposite version is your rival" and not "the character".

That is a change though. Also in Red and Blue the suggested name is Green. And he's Green in the comics, even in the English translation. So no, something was changed. Why was it changed?

Suggested names in Red are Blue, Gary, and John.
Suggested names in Blue are Red, Ash, and Jack.
Every English version of the manga I've seen calls him Blue, and any instance where he's called Green is just a typo (usually the girl is in the same scene and the translators overlooked which character was actually being referred to).
