I understand the appeal in having a legitimate shiny, one that wasn't just hacked in, one that the game generated naturally. But this "It has to appear when I'm not expecting it" bullshit makes no sense because you're getting the exact same thing in the exact same way as someone who looks at the RNG. You just prolong it like using a calculator is cheating, except it's not even that. Attempting to calculate it at all is cheating to you. Even a golfer tries to take account of wind, weather, his club, and the direction of the hole. You're just shouting a random number between 0 and 8191 every 45 seconds and hoping you get it right.
