Does the eshop closing mean anything bad for Pokebank? I have a lot of mons from older games I would like to move forward to home eventually

It means you won't be able to download Pokebank after it closes, but the service will still remain active and will be free after, so don't pay for a resubscription.

You do have to download transporter this week which does require a subscription at some point in the past. You have have to give Nintendo some jewgold for that

Note that if you want to do things legitimately then to add funds to use in the 3DS eshop you need to link your 3DS to your NNID, then choose to merge funds with your NNID and your 3DS funds. That way it will all be in one account, and you can add funds via the website or Switch eshop and use them on the 3DS eshop.

I remember back when they were announcing bank as a long-term cloud storage system, only to replace it with home only a couple of gens later.
I wonder what the one after Home is going to be. Since they're obviously gonna wanna create an artificial need for remakes by removing compatibility with past titles

Are there CIA files for the 6 virtual console titles?

I have all my game saves on my legit 3ds. I recently hacked a 2ds last week and was wondering if I can move my save file over to back it up? I want to back them up before dumping my Pokémon to bank (and ultimately to home).

I hacked my 2ds purely to back up my gen 6 and 7 carts before dumping to home as well.

Yeah but there's no word on the Poke Transporter, which you need for pre-gen 6 and the VC games, and you can only download that after buying a Bank subscription. I have zero faith that I'll be able to download it after the eshop closes even though I already have Bank on my 3DS, so I don't want to miss out and fuck up transferring Pokemon in the future.

Unless you can find someone else with bank yes, you would have to find someone else that has bank to do the transfer for you and then have switch games you can deposit them in otherwise it'd be extremely tedious and probably not worth the effort if you have to do individual HOME trades for an entire dex.

You need the poketransporter that is a manual download through Bank that requires the eShop to download that is only through a paid subscription.

If you have that you can send the gameboy pokemon to bank that can be used in generation 7 (Sun/Moon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon) or sent straight the HOME.

How do I replicate them to the base game 1:1? I can't see explicit IV/EV stats on Pokemon Home and I don't see how I can change certain details (like Characteristics, etc.) in PKSM
Anyone willing to help me figure this out?

I think they realized a problem with Bank as for how they did it limited it to the 3DS.
Now with Home though, we have both the Switch version and the phone version.
There being a phone version would indicate that they learned from the Bank mistake and now will have Home on anything post Switch.

You need a NNID set up on the 3DS first but after doing that you should be able to use cia files for bank and transporter to install those and get things moving. Either way we only have so much longer before EVERYTHING 3ds is shut down.

It has its benefits, you don't need Switch online. You can use the GTS for free on your phone app where if it was in the game you likely would've had to pay for online.

Yes the poke bank is doomed. Despite it being free it’s very likely the servers for it will go down in the future. I don’t know anything about home and have fears for it as I am uncertain if the stored app data is tied to the device or a cloud account.

I'm 90% sure the cia ver of transporter from the hshop wont work once, I read a thousand times the transporter and bank needs to be downloaded from the eshop so the

you can skip the paywall for transporter with homebrew tho, a hack that pretty much links you to the eshop page of transporter that normally is hidden behind the bank premium plan menu
