Pokemon has for the first time have failed to make a good Spider pokemon. New Pokemon designs suck and this is the definite proof that.

Older designs cannot be repeated. They are trying to design something unconventional, something unlike the glory of the past. At least it seems so. But then they put an ice cube head penguin in the game.

Color scheme, stiff anatomy, awkward posing, the pose it has in the game doesn't have the webbing like in the art so it looks goofy, and it's the evolution of Tarountula. It's a shame since I think the SWAT theming is cool.

It took me a while to come around but he's a great design, he just looks unwhelming in the game because of how basic his textures look. Once I realized he's also a string marionette in addition to being an ogre spider/a spec ops agent/a tailor i became more forgiving towards the texturing choice.

The reason is that they choose extremely simple designs that any idiot can create on Solidworks or Autocad. The baby water turtle and this spider are definite proofs of this.

Why the basic shape designs ? Probably easier to render ? or faster to load ?

Nah, Spinarak/Ariados was clearly worse designs. Joltic/Galvantula on the other hand are best spider mon designs to this day

I like it fine. It's no worse, no better than most early game bugs. What I don't like is GF's insistence on making bad Pokemon. Not design- but Pokemon that are flat out unusable. They're getting so bad about doing it to large amounts of each generation with no hopes for buffs. They know they're doing it. It's retarded and they should at least TRY to make every Pokemon viable somehow.
