>>53489373And they've always sucked, its just that they're more and more infecting pokemon people actually use like starters.
At least gen 3's fighting types are a little more subtle about it and not literally wearing boxing gloves and underwear.
>>53489365The key trait for a "bad jobmon" in my opinion is a Pokemon who you cannot really imagine living in the woods / caves living out its animal life. When the human influence becomes too hardcore and it's hard to imagine it as anything but a creature in a video game used by humans for battle or culture.
Something like Hariyama I don't consider too bad, the sumo influence is super obvious but you can imagine them fighting it out for dominance in the wild, and that their body shapes are adaptations for the kinds of fighting they do, with human Sumo wrestling in the world being inspired by Hariyama.
For a similar but bad example IMO, Incineroar, the specific idea of a heel wrestler is very confusing, are all incineroar's heel wrestlers? How does that make sense when its such a specific role? They battle it out in the wild for dominance I guess but who's the audience they're appealing to? who's the hero character to get against the heel? Not to mention by personal hatred of the more human proportions, which I think should stay out of the series and were a big problem in Gen 1 too.
Lapras can be used as a ferry, but it is also just a creature, its easy to imagine it doing funny plesiosaur things, eating, avoiding predators, etc. It just happened to be an effective mount, like a horse or camel or elephant.
