i felt bad cause even though arven was like "yeah i feel fine about it", its still rather fucked how everything turned out. arven is now 100% an orphan, atleast he has the money left behind by his dad's legacy or something.

Sure he deserved better, but he doesn't bemoan what happened to him in Area Zero and says it helped him find a sense of closure, letting him move on in his life. He let go of his parental resentment and got to hear a parental figure give him words of praise at the end, so he's satisfied. Plus he got three capable friends and forgave raidon, and he has a new path in life as an aspiring chef.

Arven also speculated on whether he should take on Victory Road too, I think it'd be neat if all three friends ended up becoming Champions under their own means, conquering the gyms. Arven could use the strength to gather more Herba Mystica, and Penny could use the strength to keep herself safe and acknowledged.

The robot literally can only function because of the funny terastral crystals in area zero that make the impossible possible, if the place he goes to , be it a true future or simply a world that is what Turo thought the future would be like, doesnt have these same crystals in the same spot, he would stop functioning immediately.

Sv are very good games that sadly have bugs due to the slight rush but man what i wouldn't give to enjoy all of Area Zero again for the first time.

The thing is that Arven has been suspecting that his parent has been dead for a long ass time, so he had a lot of time to cope with it already.
He said that his parent used to at least write emails a couple of YEARS ago until they suddenly stopped, so they have been dead for at least 2 years. That's a long time to internalise that they are probably dead, although he was definitely frustrated with the idea that they still might be alive and just decided to abandon him for good. Which is probably why he had such angry reactions whenever he heard the professors voice while the AI was talking to us through the phone. Although he was either in denial about the voice not really belonging to his parent or just trying to cover up his suspicions from the MC. In Area Zero, he's constantly hinting at the fact that it couldn't actually be his parent who is talking to them, so he was definitely not completely in denial or anything.

But yeah, it does feel like he could've used a little bit more development and some more moments that showed us how he is coping with the truth. But as you said, there's plenty of fanfics and other content that explores that more deeply.

I am honestly fucking seething that Arven doesn't seem to show up in the DLC. I expected any DLC content to be ABOUT him if anything, but from what we've seen he's not even present.

So? There was no art of him or any of the other friends.
I know GF, I'm not gonna get my hopes up man. The fact that there's so many new characters, especially in the second part of the DLC, makes me seriously doubt that he'll have much of a role there, if at all.

same, i was very disappointed when he wasn't shown in the trailer at all. they're absolutely going to pull the same shit they did with avery/klara and peonia and have the DLC focus on some rando new characters that nobody cares about, instead of expanding on the characters from the base game

If that's the case, they are probably biting themselves in the ass for deciding to focus on new characters in the DLC and now seeing Arven be so popular that he even wins popular votes, or the Famitsu Award for best character.
I guess it's still possible that there will be a second DLC. At least that one leaker made it sound like there will be a second one, but he might've just meant the two seperate parts.
I guess we'll see.

He knew his parent was gone before even getting to area zero. He went through something with the gang that helped him destruct his defense mechanisms. He now has a support network that used to just be his mabostiff. He knows what he has now and has a purpose. I'd say he is better off.

Not the anon, but it's too soon to judge, what we know from the DLC is just the synopsis of the first part and 2 artwork.
My current cope and headcanon is that the director of Blueberry academy is Arven's other parent. And while I doubt that Arven, Nemona and penny will be important to the DLCs story I would be surprised if they don't make any appearance.
Have hope anon, we will see him again.

He's only a dick to the player ONCE, when we're complete strangers in the company of the annoying-as-fuck Nemona and the Pokemon who is basically responsible for his parent neglecting him all these years. This is shortly after his dog was mortally wounded and he realized it's injuries can't be healed by normal means. He's friendly and helpful to the player in every encounter after that, and only continues to snap at Nemona because she's a battle -obsessed autistic who can't read the room.

Personally I believe he's only so abrasive towards Nemona because he's jealous of her.
Everyone knows Nemona for her achievements and success, and even though she has really famous parents, not a lot of people seem to know that about her. Arven is the complete opposite of that, everyone knows him only because of his parent and not because he achieved something notable.
Then of course there is also the fact that Nemona tries to convince the MC to prioritize the gym challenge at the start of the game. That makes Arven antagonize Nemona even further because her request is pretty meaningless compared to his request that is ultimately his last chance to heal his Mabosstiff.
It makes perfect sense for him to despise her, although it seems like he warms up to her a bit in Area Zero (probably because he realises she's legit a weirdo and not trying to be a weirdo)

You have to understand that Arven has dealt with this shit of separation for the majority of his life.
He's still upset, but he lived long enough without them to continue living his own life.

His entire plot with Mabosstiff was meant to show you that his effort for helping a PRESENT situation is much better than his parents robbing him of a present together focusing so much on the past/future.
