>>53496517I do. One of the core facets of Pokémon is collecting all the Pokémon barring mythicals, and that effectively stopped mattering in Gen VII when they stopped including a National Pokédex. There are at the very least Island Scan + Ultra Space Pokémon to give those extra 214 Pokémon SOME presence in the games, but to me the remaining 193 Pokémon may effectively not exist. Trading Pokémon forward is not an experience to me, it's not memorable. The value in a Pokémon is in how memorable it is to find, the thought that went into it. Dumping hundreds into one identical way to obtain is boring and is also the reason I think Ultra Space is such a disservice to all the Legendary Pokémon that are exclusively obtained through it. When I think of Ho-Oh, I think of the Tin/Brass Tower and Navel Rock. When I think of Mewtwo I think of Cerulean Cave. When I think of Giratina I think of Turnback Cave and the Distortion World. Moltres on Mt. Ember, Zapdos in the Power Plant, Articuno in the Seafoam Islands, the Regis and their braille puzzles. Hell, even for roaming Pokémon, it's kept to a small number per game (Raikou, Entei, Suicune in GS, just Raikou and Entei in Crystal and HGSS, Latios in Ruby/SoulSilver, Latias in Sapphire/HeartGold, the one of your choice in Emerald, either Raikou, Entei, or Suicune in FRLG depending on your starter, Mesprit and Cresselia in DPPt, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in Platinum, Tornadus in Black, Thundurus in White). The fact that I can recall these off the top of my head means that they're memorable. I can tell you the Pokémon that are missing in Gen II, FRLG, or IV pretty easily because they're easy to categorize.
I'm not going to give Alola credit for porting over a bunch of models and having them exist in the ROM. I wouldn't give Galar credit if it did the same thing. That's like being impressed that they didn't take away access to the drink bar at a restaurant.
Dexit didn't bother me because of Alola.
