Isn't it weird how Gen 1 had two Pokemon based on the rafflesia flower?
Like, it's not as basic as two snakes or two ducks, it's a pretty specific plant.

Venusaur's plant is completely fictional, potentially based on Juran from Ultraman, it's in no way shape or form a rafflesia.

Adult rafflesia have no leaves, no trunks and the "petals" are really thick and rounded, not flowy.

i still wish vileplume played more into the "putrid rotten corpse scent" aspect of the flower. gloomy was a step in the right direction, but vileplume could've continued it by being a drooling zombie-like plant monster that hides in the ground to resemble a harmless plant and attract scavengers looking for the corpse scent, then when prey comes nearby it emerges like it's coming out of a grave

i think a good addition would be having maschiff hold a stick in it's mouth that it uses like a gangster would use a baseball bat. it bashes prey's knees in with it due to it's short height.
