Why does the marketing always call them "first partner" Pokémon and not starters? Especially since they've accepted other fan colloquialisms into canon in the past (most notably, Shiny pokemon were only referred to by that name officially in gen 4+ afaik, while fans coined the term earlier). Why not use the most well-known and widely-accepted names for these trios in marketing instead of some retarded corporatespeak that nobody will understand on first reading (as opposed to the fan variation)?
