Why does Lysandre put on a visor and doc oc tentacles for his villain fight. The sidekick characters even point out "What's with that crazy outfit?!" but no answer is ever given. It's completely swept under the rug. If he wanted to be seen as resplendent, you'd expect him to be dressed like Louis XIV, I mean, there's definitely a sun/lion mane motif going on with him already, why not go full Sun King? It's literally in France! Hell, wanting to live in lavish splendor while disregarding the wellbeing of the peasantry is what got his great grandson beheaded. It would have been super on theme.
BUT if it's an Alien reveal, suddenly it makes perfect sense. In fact, all of team flare's obsessive use of eyewear makes sense, because according to the leak, the aliens have weird eyes like Valorie. Lysandre doesn't having the eyes because as you'll remember, he's a mind-controlled alter ego of Lysandre, you know, like Emma/Essentia. Super weird for that to be something Team Flare is working on, literally nothing to do with being FaBuLoUs or social darwinists with a Thanos bent. Mind control is super on theme for X-files flavor though, very traditional alien M.O.
