I wanted to let everyone know that the final episode being aired today is technically not the last time we see Ash. As you can probably tell, Pokemon hasn't had a movie since "Secrets of the Jungle". The reason being is the next movie is Ash's true ending.
The movie is called "Ash vs Red" and will be the final big battle for Ash. It'll also tie up any loose ends with Team Rocket, Gary, the other girls etc. It will also try to tie the original plans of the anime ending into the final episode (which is why we got to Movie 5 reference because Johto was supposed to be the end of Ash's journey.)
