it's actually hilarious how much /vp/ believes the new series is so doomed to fail when the garbage known as Boruto made it to #2 best selling series and Yu-Gi-Oh's new incarnations keep making fat dosh
even digimon who keeps relying on adventure to survive still managed to make series like Tamers which were extremely popular without fucking Tai and Agumon around all the time
the anime would have died a miserable death with ash all the same, the ratings have dwindled each season, bringing him back is off the table if the series actually gets to a point where it loses money (it won't) because then they'll be stuck with Ash heading a doomed series and every investor will call them retarded for not just continuing with the new protagonists anyway
