what are some ways to make catching pokemon more fun? vast majority of the time it's just running in circles at the mercy of RNG and most of the time when GF does try something new or unique, it's implemented HORRIBLY (most of the sinnoh cancer like honey trees). Wimpod in gen 7 feels like one of the few times where they made catching a pokemon unique and interesting without padding it out with RNG and/or excessive waiting.

Encounters that make the world feel more lived in are a good direction. It should feel like the pokemon are a part of the world rather than only exsisting when you do X action.

Which version are you playing? I'm gonna get a Feebas in my Sapphire run
I remember pussying out and using some tool to figure out my spot in Emerald years ago. I did legitimately catch Feebas a few times in Platinum but it's not quite as much of an achievement.
