Ash's sendoff was disappointing. It was nothing but filler that ended on a "LE POKEMON MASTER IS LE FRIENDS WE MADE ALONG THE LE WAY" message that says nothing and doesn't answer the real question of Ash being a Pokemon master. Ash being Champion was also barely given any respect.

Here is how it should have gone
>Team Rocket was the ones after Latias and sets up a final confrontation with Giovani
>Each episode has an old Companion join Ash
>One of the episodes features an Alain vs. Ash rematch which shows the return of Greninja
>Ash wins his rematch with Alain using his Kalos team
>Misty gets to interact with Serena and the two fight over Ash's feelings
>Everyone fights Team Rocket and Ash battles Giovanni, ending with an epic showdown between a mind-controlled Mewtwo vs. Ash-Greninja where Ash comes out on top
>Ash returns to Pallet Town and celebrates his 11th birthday with all his friends and rivals there all recognizing him as Pokemon Master
>Cuts to the future where it is shown Liko is Ash and Serena's daughter and Ash reminisces on his journeys
