>>53531770>so you just became a consoomer? real shameYeah, Gamefreak made me realize that media of today is basically a religion, you have people who grew up on a franchise, then had children and tried to indoctrine them into that same franchise. I was at the mall the other day and in an anime shop that also had normalfag merch, I saw a guy around my age with a like, 2 or maybe 3 year old kid. The dude had some fucking, Chewbacca baby socks, and he was excitedly pushing them in the little kid's face with a big old grin, as if the kid was supposed to get as excited as he was for seeing the character,
This is anecdotal of course but I feel like it's emblematic of what I'm trying to say, franchises have become a huge part of people's lives and are integral to their identiy. No matter how shitty something is, people are gonna consoom. No matter how awful a company is, it doesn't matter, they own the brand and therefore own the 'identity' of pretty much our entire generation. Blizzard cannot go a year without some fuckhuge controversy and yet everyone still lines up for more Diablo or Overwatch or WOW or whatever the fuck. Disney shits out the same garbage every year and yet people are only JUST NOW beginning to get tired of Marvel movies, and yet they're still entrenched in pop culture.
Pokemon is the king of all of this. Dexcut doesn't matter, shit graphics don't matter, cut content doesn't matter, Pokemon being dlc gated doesn't matter. None of that shit matters, because Pokemon is a religion and there are millions upon millions of devout followers who will in turn get their kids to be just as big consoomers as they are, and it'll work till we die and beyond then.
So yes I bought SV. Even after years of shitting on SWSH and GF I still bought it because my and any dissenter's opinions don't mean shit next to the ever growing masses of fucking paypiggies.
It don't matter, none of this fucking matters.
