So this is the starter trio for my Pacific Northwest-based region. They’re themed after Tokusatsu tropes (Mecha, Superhero, and Kaiju) to represent the relationship between the Pacific Northwest and Japan. What do you think?

yeah, i would say these starters don't really have much to do with pacific northwest
orca, bigfoot, salmon, thunderbird, tree octopus are all PNW creatures i thought of off of top of my head

don't lie and say that these designs were created with such a thing in mind. i've seen you post these same fakemon for quite a while now, so it's pretty obvious that they came first before the pnw theme
even if i were to be ignorant of that, i would still question the relevancy of these fakemon to the relationship between the pacific northwest and japan
after all, what *is* the relationship between the pacific northwest and japan?

I sometimes have second thoughts about having the trio be the starters. I felt they fit better in a Japan-based region. But the thing is I’ve kept changing starters throughout the development and I (along with everyone else) am sick of it.
As for the thunderbird, the regional bird will become Electric/Flying when it evolves.

is the bug meant to resemble a skull? the stinger on the back of it also reminds me of a candle
maybe it's evolution could have a grim reaper motif?
and it's middle stage cocoon resembles a coffin or a mummy

a mosquito is something we've absolutely needed a regular pokemon of (buzzwole technically counts but that's not really from the pokemon world) and this is a pretty cool execution of it

legendaries could be sterotypical aliens

Just got off the phone with GF, they have the following recommendations:

- The grass mecha needs to have a shittier colour scheme. Experiment with random palette swaps, and consider a few stripes or spots of a clashing colour as well. Only do this for the fulled evolved form by the way.
- Make the fire one into feminine furbait, but also give it a clown nose or something for plausible deniability.
- The water lizard looks too cool. Try any of the following: make its arms and legs thinner, give it a pig nose, make its eyes cartoonish and non-threatening, or give it comically large ears.

for thematic purposes, i suppose a grass type moose based on wood carved sculptures, a water type beaver evocative of a fisherman and a fire type bear based on a twist on smokey (maybe it's final stage is a fire/dark pyromaniac)

Exploration theme (traveling on land, air, or sea)
Grass-type tree octopus
Fire-type bat
Water-type lungfish

I like the grass and water starter ideas.
They're obviously things that are outside of their natural environment - a fish and a octopus.
As for the fire starter, why not go with the manatee? I always found them odd with those giant toenails on their flippers.

The PNW has a lot of Asian immigration and thusly has a decent amount of influence from places like Japan and Korea throughout it. Especially in Washington. I forget which city but one of the cities in the pnw has a lot of Sakura trees and they were actually a gift form Japan. I’m sure the theme is fine.

You try way too hard to appeal to us. And in turn, your fakemon look generic and ugly. There is nothing that makes any of your designs stand out. They're all just angry animals with edgy designs. Your fakemon is the definition of soulless. You also try so hard to make your fakemon fit your region when it doesn't need to be that way.
In addition, your art skills are shit as well. You make so many generic ass design, yet you can't even improve your art or use a better paint program. At the very least, DarkandWindie can actually sugi render his generic designs. I have never seen you sugi render your designs, so you're just DnW that has worse art skills.
