Day 48 of searching for a shiny ralts on route 102 in gen 3. 56,358 random encounters so far. I really REALLY hope today is the day.

It's 1 in 8,000 for a shiny but ralts is only 1 in 10 in this route (after using the repel trick to boost from 4% to 10%). So it's something like 1 in 80,000 odds per random encounter

Even if a male Gardevoir were an issue couldn't he just keep it as a Kirlia and gather the gen 3 ribbons before transferring it to gen 4, then evolve it to a Gallade there?

It's elegant and cool and I like the pokedex lore. A psychic pokemon that can sense emotions and will protect it's trainer. It has the fantasy caster gameplay as a special sweeper but has the knight vibe too. It just feels like the one
