Not to the same extent, and the interconnectivity isn't utilised as well in Sinnoh as it is in Hoenn.

This entire loop in Johto still remains my favourite segment of any Pokemon game. Arriving in Goldenrod gives you so many options as a player, and there's almost always a reason to come back even when you've beaten the game. It's the best 'central hub' of any Pokemon game.
