What is your very first Pokemon memory.
I think mine was when I was about 11 years old. Me and my family were walking through a shopping centre and one of the stores had a cardboard cutout of a Pikachu with a sign saying "WE SELL POKEMON CARDS!" I had no idea what it was but it put the concept of the franchise into my mind and the idea that it was something people were getting excited over.
Shortly after that I caught an episode of the anime by chance. I think it was the SS Anne episode with the cliffhanger ending so obviously I was immediately invested and made a point to keep watching.
Some time after that I bought a gaming magazine with a massive article explaining what Pokemon was, and detailing all the games and merch. I had always thought handhelds were stupid compared to consoles but I HAD to play Pokemon Blue so I put the Gameboy Color on my birthday list.
